Spotlighted Fate
This is a meta-commentary on the performance of life. I am 'mocking free' and breaking the fourth wall, telling the listener that their resistance is 'pitiful.' I wanted to reveal that everything—even their confusion—is 'all part of the act,' and that they are dancing to a script I have already written.

THE VERSES
Spotlight on me
Out here mocking fate
Waving to the crowd
Taking a bow
Out of body, not out of mind
Out of sync, still in time
Spit bars that make these stars misalign
That's divine, what a sight
When fate asks me, "Why?"
I don't answer, I just hold up the line
"How you dare to?"
Spit with the attitude
The more that you resist, the more you lose
Oh, I would hate to be you
Oh, how pitiful
How predictable
One-two, one-two, one-two
One-two, one-two, one-two
Tell me what's left to prove
You knew it would come to this
What you thought would happen when I asked you to dance
To that song that only plays in your head?
And now you're out here looking all silly
Trying to do the dougie, and you're hitting the griddy
And the cupid shuffle, and you're doing the wop
When will you stop?
All your inhibitions just dropped
Like, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop
Spotlight on me
Out here mocking fate
Waving to the crowd
Taking a bow
Spotlight on me
Out here mocking fate
Waving to the crowd
Taking a bow
When will you learn?
When will you die?
And if you die, will you return?
Will you come back?
'Cause I'll still be here
If you need to see me, I will appear
When you thought you won
When you thought you had it
Then you realized
It was all part of the act, baby
It's all part of the act, baby
It's all part of the act, baby
It's all part of the act, baby
It's all part of the act, baby
Spotlight on me
Out here mocking fate
Waving to the crowd
Taking a bow
Spotlight on me
Out here mocking fate
Waving to the crowd
Taking a bow
