Masquerade Ball
I set this scene at a ball where 'innocence pretenders' hide behind red laces. It is about the deceit of high society and the secrets we wear on our faces. I wanted to convey the tension of a 'wicked game' where everyone stands tall with shadowed faces, ultimately leading to a fire that consumes the charade.

THE VERSES
The masks on our faces
Dressed up in red laces
Innocent pretenders
But nothing's what it seems
Dark little mysteries
Play in this wicked game
Sly little tricks
Deceit
Hide in this masquerade
At the ball
We all stand tall
With shadowed faces
At the ball
We all stand tall
No one can see

We all stand tall
With shadowed faces
At the ball
We all stand tall
No one can see
